A lesser-spotted Matassa cuvée that blends Carignan with Lledoner Pelut, an obscure grape that loosely translates as "˜hairy Grenache', so-called as it is a mutation of that particular grape and owing to its highly distinctive, downy, fur-covered leaves. In terms of its taste, it's generally considered to be too light to make wine on its own, although we find its lithe, silky texture more than appealing. Coupled with the Carignan to provide a savory backbone, both varietals channeling herbaceous flavors from the garrigue-flecked landscape amongst which they are planted.
